Originally part of an old Victorian boys’ school, Arches Bed & Breakfast in Cornwall was built in the early 1900s and has been renovated to provide friendly, welcoming and homely B&B accommodation on the edge of the bustling market town of St Austell in the heart of the beautiful county of Cornwall.

On arrival at Arches B&B in Cornwall, you will be offered a traditional, delicious Cornish Cream Tea –  a pot of tea, scones with jam and clotted cream.

Our spacious guest rooms have en-suite facilities, and you can enjoy an extensive choice of cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurt and a home cooked breakfast as well as freshly ground coffee and a large selection of teas in our guest dining room. We are well known for our scrambled eggs with clotted cream!

Guests can relax on our patio or in our small conservatory, which has a book swap mini library.

St Austell town centre is just a 10-minute walk away where you will find a good range of pubs and restaurants as well as shopping, cinema and a bowling alley. Or visit White River Place where you’ll find some high street shops, a cinema and a few places to eat.

Take a trip to visit the St Austell Brewery – Cornwall’s Award-winning Independent Family Brewers established in 1851.

At Arches, we have discount vouchers for some restaurants in the area – just ask us when you stay.

Parking … Most B&Bs in the area do not provide parking, however we do provide free parking for our guests but please be aware that our driveway is narrow.

B&B Accommodation

The Green Room, with its luxurious four poster bed, and the Red Room, which can be used as a Double or Twin, both have great views overlooking the viaduct bridge and woodland area.

All of our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, Freeview TV and silent mini fridges to keep your drinks and snacks cool.

For lovers of gardens and plants, the world famous Eden Project is just four miles away and we are the perfect B&B in Cornwall for cyclists because we are on the main new cycle route to the Eden Project. We also provide you with storage space for your bike.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan is only five miles away with its stunning jungle garden and woodland walks. The Pine Lodge Gardens, with its many themes, is also virtually on our doorstep – just two miles away.

For stately home or National Trust lovers, Lanhydrock House is a must see. There are also many coastal beaches close by with Charlestown and its tall Galleon ships being the nearest.

Visit the wild and mysterious Bodmin Moor with its stunning and dramatic scenery and great picnic areas – we can supply your picnic for a small extra charge if required.
